Hurricanes Capture Inaugural ECJLL Female Championship

Thursday evening (July 21) the Halifax Hurricanes captured the East Coast Cup with a 9-0 victory over the Sackville Wolves sweeping the finals 2-0.
Halifax Hurricanes Female Jr A are the inaugural ECJLL Female Division Champion,s taking home the East Coast Cup.
The Hurricanes swept the Sackville Wolves in the best of 3 series, with a dominant defensive performance, not allowing a goal against in the series. The Hurricanes finished the season tied with the Wolves but clinched first place through tie breaker formula. The first place finished allowed the Hurricanes to rest with a bye to the finals while the Wolves played a semi final series against the Breakers. The additional rest paid of for the Hurricanes as they came out of the gates flying taking the series in two games. The Wolves continued to press but were not able to break through in the series.

The ECJLL would like to congratulation all teams, players, volunteers who made the ECJLL female Jr A 1st season a great success. This is only the beginning of female Jr A lacrosse in Atlantic Canada.
