ECJLL (M) - Wolves Win Game 1

The Sackville Wolves defeated the Dartmouth Bandits for the first time since 2014, winning Game 1 of the semi-final series 11-4 Tuesday night.
The Dartmouth Bandits had defeated the Sackville Wolves in both regular season meetings this year. In fact, they had won every meeting since June 14, 2016 (2,950 days) but in their first ECJLL (M) playoff game of the 2022 season the Wolves came out strong, leading 7-0 by half, and never looked back. The Wolves cruised to an 11-4 win over the Bandits in Game #1 of the best-of-5 semi-final series.
The Wolves had 9 different scorers, with Alex Bechard and Joel Broussard each scoring 2 goals. Ty Wheatley, Ethan Muir, Jordan Whitford, Brandon Lacroix, Alfie West, Jack Dulong and Cooper Puma also scoring. It was Cooper Puma’s first ECJLL goal.
Noah Cox was at the top of his game, not allowing a goal until the 3rd quarter and with the help of a solid defensive core, holding the #2 seed Bandits to just 4 goals.
Shamus Locke (2), Trayner McCulloch and Jake Beardsmore replied for the Bandits.
The teams return to action in Game #2 of the series on Friday, July 15th at 7:30pm at Cole Harbour Place – Scotia I.
