Bandits Use 4th Quarter Surge to Defeat the Rebels in Game 1

Trailing 9-7 entering the 4th quarter the Dartmouth Bandits scored 6 goals from six different players over the first 10 minutes of the quarter to defeat the St. Margaret's Bay Rebels 13-11. The Bandits take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 semi-final series.
The Bandits had a 3-2 lead after the 1st quarter, but trailed 6-5 at the half and 9-7 after the 3rd quarter before kicking it into high gear in the 4th quarter, outscoring the Rebels 6-2 to take the win.
The Bandits welcomed back Jordan McKenna and Brett Draper, who combined for 5 goals and 12 points. Cody Carta-Bomersine had a hat-trick, while Tyson Carvery added 4 assists for the Bandits. Luke Steinburg, Dalton Brown, Keaton Brown, Chris Bungay and Thomas Davies also scored for Dartmouth.
The Rebels Zach Whitford had 1 goal and 5 assists in 4 games during the regular season, but stepped up big-time in the first playoff game scoring 3 goals and adding 4 assists (7 points). Luke Wilson and Jacob Gagnon each added 2 goals, while Liam Swallow, Brandon Scott, Max Pellerine and Charlotetown Islanders (QMJHL) goalie Jacob Goobie added singles for St. Margaret's.
The Bandits take a 1-0 series lead home to Shearwater, where game 2 will be played on Tuesday evening.
