Wolves Move Into 1st Place Tie With Win Over Warriors

The Sportwheels Wolves and Mi'kmaq Warriors were tied 3-3 after 3 quarters, but the Wolves used a 6 goal outburst in the 4th quarter to defeat the Warriors 9-3 last night in Truro.

The Warriors led 2-1 at the half and 3-1 early in the 3rd quarter as goalie Nick MacLean held the Wolves shooters at bay.  The Wolves scored twice late in the quarter on goals by Mike Anthony and Zac Carrigan, to tie the game and then pulled away with 6 goals in the 4th quarter.

Zac Carrigan (3G 2A) and Mitch Broussard (2G 3A) each had 5 points for the Wolves,  remaining #1 and #2 in ECJLL points on the season and Noah Cox lowered his GAA to 5.50 to earn his 4th win in 6 starts.  Ben McKay and Mike Anthony each had 2 goals for the Wolves.

Aiden Ring scored 2 goals with his new team and Lewis Jarvie add the other goal for the Warriors.

After the game the Wolves and Warriors completed a trade that will allow long time Warriors player Connor Dennis a chance to compete for the Garnet Knight Cup.

The Wolves moved into a 3-way tie for 1st place in the ECJLL Standings and close out the season on Tuesday night when they host the Dartmouth Bandits.  The Warriors will play their final game next Friday in Shearwater.
