Hurricanes hand Bandits First Loss of the Season, Move Into a 1st Place Tie!

The Halifax Hurricanes came out to play last night in Shearwater! The teams traded the lead throughout the game and the Dartmouth Bandits lead 9-7 with 3:43 left to play, but the Halifax Hurricanes scored 3 goals in 61 seconds to defeat the Bandits 10-9.
The Halifax Hurricanes came out to play last night in Shearwater! The teams traded the lead throughout the game and the Dartmouth Bandits lead 9-7 with 3:43 left to play, but the Halifax Hurricanes scored 3 goals in 61 seconds to defeat the Bandits 10-9.
After Sam Cox made it 9-7 for Dartmouth at 3:43 of the 4th quarter Aidan Child scored 18 seconds later for the Hurricanes, and 17 seconds after that Isaac Abbot tied the game. The game was not tied for long as Francis Greyson scored 44 seconds later to give the Hurricanes a 10-9 lead, and Nate Jollymore get the Bandits at bay for the final 2:24 to earn the win as the Hurricanes handed the Bandits their first loss of the season.
The Hurricanes had 2 goals each from Francis Greyson (2G 3A), Jonah Glazebrook (2G 2A), Aidan Child (2G 1A) and Isaac Abbot, while Ben Allison (1G 2A) and Glen Holmes (1G 1A) added singles. The Bandits had 8 different scorers with Tyson Carvery scoring 2 goals for the Bandits and Dakota Morrisey, Keaton Brown, Dalton Brown, Nate Wotton, Sam Cox, Cody Carta-Bomersine and Shamus Locke each scoring 1 goal.
This was the Bandits first loss of the season, and with the Sportwheels Wolves win last night as well there is a 3-way tie for 1st place in the ECJLL as we head into the final week of the regular season. The Hurricanes close out the regular season on Monday against the Rebels, while the Bandits play the Wolves on Tuesday and the Mi’kmaw Warriors on Friday evening, with the ECJLL playoffs beginning on Saturday, August 7th.
