Wolves Shutdown Rebels Offense, Win 10-1
2021-07-21The Sportwheels Wolves defense held the St Margaret's Bay Rebels to 1 goal as the Wolves defeated the Rebels 10-1 last night. Wolves goalie Noah Cox had the Rebels number, turning aside every shot, before surrendering a power play goal with 1:08 remaining in the game.
The Sportwheels Wolves defense shut down the St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels offense, holding the Rebels to 1 goal as the Wolves defeated the Rebels 10-1 last night. Wolves goalie Noah Cox had the Rebels number, turning aside shot after shot throughout the game, before surrendering a power play goal with 1:08 remaining in the game. Noah was 1 minute away from recording the 1st shutout in the ECJLL since 2017.
On offense, Mitch Broussard and Zac Carrigan combined for 12 points (4G and 2A each) for the Wolves, with Ben McKay (1G 3A) and Mike Anthony also scoring.
Brandon Scott scored the loan goal for the Rebels to break Noah’s shut out.
The Wolves moved into a 3-way tie for 1st place with 6 points, and have 3 games remaining in this shortened season. They next face the Mi’kmaw Warriors in a home and home series beginning next Tuesday. The Rebels play their next game on Sunday evening as they host the Dartmouth Bandits.
