Bandits Remain Undefeated, Move into a 1st Place Tie with the Hurricanes

Powered by 4 goals from Jordan McKenna and a strong game from rookie goalie Ashton Brown the Dartmouth Bandits defeated the Halifax Hurricanes 8-4 in Spryfield last night. The Bandits move to 3-0 on the season and into a 1st place tie with the Hurricanes.

The Banditshad a 4-3 lead after 2 quarters in a tight, low scoring affair, and played even tougher in the second half, allowing only one goal against while scoring four more for the win.  Jordan McKenna had 4 goals, including 2 short-handed goals, and Brett Draper had 3 points (2G 1A).  Luke Steinburg and Dakota Morrisey also scored for the Bandits.  Ashton Brown earned his second win of his rookie season and collected 2 assists.
 
Jackson Davis (2 goals), Glen Holmes, and Ben Allison replied for the Hurricanes and Nate Jollymore had a solid outing in goal, keeping the game close.
 
The Bandits will travel to Truro in Friday evening to face the Mi’kmaq Warriors, while the Hurricanes do not play again until next Monday, when they host the St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels.
