Rebels Earn First Win of the Season

In Truro on Friday night the Rebels used a 6-0 in the 4th quarter to defeat the Mi’kmaq Warriors 16-7 to earn their first win of the ECJLL season.

Luke Wilson had 8 points (4G 4A) and Liam McGrath had 7 points (3G 4A) in his last game in the ECJLL before returning to the Orangeville Northmen Junior A team of the OJLL.  Max Pellerine had 5 points for the Rebels (3G 2A) and Stu Smeltzer made his debut with the Rebels after being traded by the Hurricanes with 5 points (2G 3A). Jacob Gagnon had two goals, while brother Sam Gagnon and Thomas Fyfe each had a goal for the Rebels.  Cole Reschny earned the win in nets.
 
The Warriors had seven different scorers with MacKenzie Maloney, Jordan Whitford, James Jobes, Lewis Jarvie, Calum McAndrew, Garrett Hines, and Dustin Camus each having a goal.
 
The Warriors will quickly get a chance to avenge the loss as they travel to Spryfield on Sunday night to meet the Rebels in a rematch of Friday’s game. A reminder that tickets are not available at the door and can only be arranged through the teams.
