Wolves Notch First Win of the Season

Noah Cox held the Rebels to 4 goals and Zac Carrigan scored 5 as the Sportwheels Wolves defeated the St. Margaret's Bay Rebels 8-4.
The Wolves spoiled the Rebels home opener last night with a strong game from captain Zac Carrigan and timely saves from goalie Noah Cox. After a tight opening quarter the Wolves outscored the Rebels 6-3 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to take control of the game. The teams traded goals in the 4th quarter and the Wolves used some strong defense to keep the Rebels from mounting a comeback.
In addition to the 5 goal outburst from Zac Carrigan, Mike Anthony had 2 goals and Jack Dulong scored his first goal of his ECJLL career. Ben McKay had 4 assists and Mitch Broussard had 3 assists and goalie Noah Cox earned his first win of the season.
Liam McGrath scored two for the Rebels, with Luke Wilson adding a goal and 2 assists and Brandon Scott also contributing a goal and an assist.
It is a quick turnaround for the Wolves, as they host the undeafeted Halifax Hurricanes on Tuesday night in Sackville for their home opener. The Rebels travel to Truro to take on the Warriors Friday evening.
