Bandits take their 4th ECJLL title

In a thriller, 60 minutes was not enough as the Bandits took game #3 at home 11 - 10 in Overtime. The win game the Bandits their 4th championship in a row. Congratulations to the Dartmouth Bandits

In Game 3 of the ECJLL 2019 Championship series, the Bandits swept the series away from the Sackville Wolves in a 11-10 final score game, winning the ECJLL championship and Garnet Knight Cup for the 4th time in a row!

The evening was started with the Bandits acknowledging their senior players - captain Gaetan Tremblay, Colin Lywer, Zach Fraser, Alex Bungay and goalie Ayden Pierro. After that, the ECJLL presented their 2019 Awards and All Star teams.

Then it was on to game time and both teams were revved up to make it an epic one for players and fans alike. Bandits were first to get on the scoreboard just 58 seconds into the game, with the Wolves quickly replying less than 1 minute later. At the end of the 1st period, Bandits led the Wolves 5-3.

Over the course of the 2nd period, these teams kept the play fast and hard, but the scoring even with each team netting 2 goals apiece. After 40 minutes of play, Bandits continued to lead 7-5.

Going into the 3rd, the Wolves were facing elimination and gained determination scoring against Bandits. During the last 20 minutes of regular play, Wolves outscored Bandits 5-3, and had the lead with 1:19 left on the clock. As it looked like the Wolves were going to stay alive and force game 4, Bandits scored a goal with 1 second remaining to tie it up 10-10, causing the game to go into overtime.

Heading into a 10 minute overtime period, the packed arena was alive with excited energy both on the floor and in the stands. Fans continued to cheer on their teams as the Bandits and Wolves played an intense period in which there was no scoring for almost the entire period, until the Bandits found the Wolves net with just under 2 minutes left on the clock. Wolves were unable to reply before the buzzer went, leaving the Bandits the winners and champions with a score of 11-10.

Scoring for the Wolves in Game 3 was led by Zac Carrigan with 4 goals, and added to by captain Mitch Broussard with 2 goal, and assistant captain Ian Connors, Lauchlin Swain, Mike Anthony and Ryland Baird all having a goal each.

Scoring for the Bandits in this game was a team effort with scoring by Tyson Carvery who had a hat trick, Chris Malette and Cody Carta-Bomersine each having a pair, while Dalton Brown, Luke Stienburg, Matt Brenzel and Nate Wotton all added 1 goal to the total.

The Bandits won the Best of 5 game series in 3 games in a row, making this championship win a 4 peat. Congratulations to the Jr A Dartmouth Bandits players, coaching staff and organization on the win and a great season!
