Bandits move one game from the ECJLL Finals

Bandits take a strangle hold of the series after taking down the the Mavericks 11-6 in Game 2. The series now shifts to Moncton which the Mavericks are hoping gives them the edge in the series.
On Saturday afternoon, Dartmouth Bandits hosted the NB Mavericks for Game 2 of their 2019 ECJLL semi final playoff series. Bandits came into this game leading the series 1-0.
Bandits opened the scoring in just 37 seconds from first face off and scored twice more before the half of the 1st period, however were unable to score for the rest of this period. Despite the Mavericks efforts in this period, they also were unable to score a point the entire period. At the end of the 1st, Bandits led 3-0.
During the 2nd period, Mavericks weren’t going to be shut out again, and found the Bandits‘ net for 4 goals. Bandits continue to be the leader in scoring though, adding 6 goals to their score. After 40 minutes of play, Bandits led 9-4.
With the 3rd period upon them, each team played hard, and were even in their scoring, getting 2 goals each. In the end, Bandits took Game 2 with a score of 11-6.
Scoring for the Mavericks were Nick Buck with 2 goals, and Bryson Purski, Austin Hirshfeld, Jaden Hewey and Matt Downing all with 1 goal.
Bandits were lead in scoring in this game by Matt Wilson, Matt Brenzel, Alex Bungay and Tyson Carvery who all had 2 points each.
With this win, Bandits lead the series 2-0, forcing the Mavericks into a “Do or Die” situation for Game 3 in this Best of 5 series.
