Hurricanes dominate the Warriors in their final game of the year

Hurricanes close the season with a dominating win over the Warriors. The Hurricanes got out to a quick 10 goals start to show the league there are firing on all cylinders for the playoffs

In Monday night lax action this week, Halifax Hurricanes hosted the Mi’kmaq Warriors at the Spryfield Lions Rink in the last match up of the regular season between these two teams.

Hurricanes had plenty of wind at their back in the 1st period as they scored 13 goals and blanking the Warriors, ending the period 13-0.

The Warriors came into the 2nd period fired up with determination to get some points on the board and that determination turned into 5 goals for the Warriors, who’s defense held the Hurricanes to only 4 goals this period. At the end of the period, despite the strong effort in this 20 minutes, Warriors trailed the Hurricanes 5-16. 

The 3rd period the Hurricanes were the team to score 5 goals in the period this time, while the Warriors were only able to ad 2 more goals to their side of the scoreboard. The Hurricanes kept the win at home in this game with a score of 21-7.

Warriors scoring leaders were captain Connor Dennis and Lewis Jarvie who both had 2 goals. Adding to the scoreboard for the Warriors were Makenzie Maloney, Jordan Whitford and Tyson Stevens who all had 1 goal apiece.

Scoring for the Hurricanes was led by Glenn Holmes who had 4 goals and 4 assists and assistant captain David Rossiter who had 4 goals and 3 assists. Jacob Abbott, Jack Letterick and Ben Allison also added 2 goals each to the scoreboard.

This was the final regular season game for the Hurricanes who win the series of 3 games between these 2 teams.
