Mavericks clinch the final playoffs spot with a win of Rebels

The Mavericks complete the season series sweep of the Rebels and officials clinch the last playoffs spot in the ECJLL playoffs in their final regular season game.
In last Sunday afternoon lacrosse action, St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels travelled to Moncton to face off against the NB Mavericks for the last time in this series match up.
1st period was an even battle between these two teams as they ended the first 20 minutes of play in a
2-2 tie.
With the 2nd period underway, both teams were revved up to break the tie, with the Mavericks were the stronger offense, scoring 8 goals to Rebels’ 4, ending the period 10-6.
As the Rebels started the 3rd period, they started a fight back to gain the lead, as they were the outscoring team in this period, netting 3 goals while the Mavericks were only able to score 1. However, it was not enough for the Rebels to take the game, as the Mavericks win this one 11-9.
Scoring for the Rebels was led by Luke Wilson who had a hat trick and an assist. Adding to the Rebels scoreboard were Brandon Scott and Max Pellerine with 2 goals each.
Mavericks were led in scoring by Jon Magarvey with 4 goals and by Peter Stanger who had a hat trick and 3 assists.
With this win, Mavericks win all 3 games against Rebels.
