Mavs move one point away from a playoff spot

This past weekend, some lax action involved a road trip to Moncton as the Halifax Hurricanes faced off against the NB Mavericks on Saturday afternoon.
Mavericks started the scoring off right from the top of the 1st period in just 22 seconds and continued to dominate in the scoring until the last 26 seconds, netting 6 goals over that time. Hurricanes were only able to get 2 goals in during the first period.
With the second period underway, the Hurricanes found their wind and outscored the Mavericks during this period 4-2, but still trailed 6-8 at the end of 40 minutes of play.
These two teams continued to battle throughout the 3rd period, with the Hurricanes again outscoring the Mavericks 3-1, which caused a tie game in the end at 9-9.
Hurricanes were led in scoring by David Rossiter with 4 goals and 2 assists, and Francis Greyson with a hat trick and an assist.
Mavericks scoring leaders were Jaden Hewey with 4 goals, and Peter Stranger and Adam Gallop who had 2 goals each.
