Warriors drop the Mavs to keep rolling

After a tie in there previous match up the Wolves came out firing taking down the Mavericks 12-5 with a 7 point performance by lead leaguing Zac Carrigan. An important win for the Wolves who are fighting for a home playoff series

Saturday night lax this past weekend had the NB Mavericks coming into the Sackville Arena to face off against the Sackville Wolves. 

The 1st period was a little quiet on the scoring front with only 3 goals being scored, as Wolves led the Mavericks 2-1 after 20 minutes of play. 

That quietness didn’t last long in the 2nd period as the Wolves picked up the pace, netting 5 more goals. The Mavericks were only able to add 2 more goals to their side of the scoreboard, ending the period trailing the Wolves 3-7.

During the last 20 minutes of the game, the Wolves continued to dominate the scoring with another 5 goals, while the Mavericks were able to get another 2 goals past the Wolves. As the buzzer announced the end of the game, Wolves took the win with a score of 12-5.

Scoring for the Mavericks were Matt Downing with 2 goals and an assist, Austin Hirschfeld and Jaden Hewey who each had a goal and an assist, and Remi Theriault with a goal.

Wolves were led in scoring by Zac Carrigan with 7 goals, while 2 rookies – Alfie West and Tyler Puma - each had a goal in this game. 

Wolves next were hosted to Halifax Hurricanes on Tuesday night, while the Mavericks next stop on this weekend road trip was to Shearwater Arena to play Dartmouth Bandits.
