Wolves down the Rebel to keep the battle for 2nd place close

2019-06-16

The Sackville Sportwheels Wolves led by Zac Carrigan's 10 point night beat the Rebels 17-5. The Wolves win keeps them in the battle for 2nd place and home floor advantage in the playoffs

On Tuesday night, Sackville Wolves hosted the St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels and right from the 1st period, the Wolves ran the floor and revved up the game.

Wolves are showing they are a strong team this year, scoring 5 goals in the 1st period, 7 goals in the 2nd and another 5 in the third. Rebels had some difficulty getting their shots on goal to become goals in net, as they scored only 1 goal in the 1st and then 2 goals in each of the following 2 periods. Wolves kept the win at home this night with a final score of 17-5.

Rebels goal scorers were Max Pellerine, who had 2 goals, Ben Normandeau, Zach Whitford and Cameron Jackman who each had a goal.

Wolves scoring leaders for the night were Zac Carrigan with 5 goals and 5 assists, Mike Anthony with 4 goals and an assist, captain Mitch Brossard with 2 goals and 5 assists and Ben McKay with 2 goals and 3 assists.

Rebels get to rest up this weekend and will see action again on Monday night when they host the Mi’kmaq Warriors at BMO Centre at 8pm.

Wolves will play hosts again as the NB Mavericks come to town for awesome Saturday Night Lax action at the Sackville Arena with a 6pm game start.
