Bandits take down the Rebels as part of the Apple Cup tournament

The second game in the Valley region this feature the Bandits vs the Rebels. In front of another amazing crowd the Bandits continued their winning ways to drop the Rebels 10 - 4 and inching closer to locking up first place in the playoffs

On a sunny Saturday afternoon in the beautiful valley, two ECJLL teams took part in the Apple Cup lacrosse tournament, showcasing Jr A lacrosse to players of all levels. Dartmouth Bandits hosted St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels for these two teams 3rd and final match up.

Bandits opened up the scoring in just 29 seconds from the 1st faceoff and got the game off to a great start. Over the course of the next 20 minutes, the Bandits were able to find the back of the Rebels’ net twice more. With just under 2 minutes left in the period, Rebels were able to score and get a point on the board. At the end of the 1st period, the Bandits led the Rebels 3-1.

The 2nd period of this game was evenly balanced between these 2 teams as each team scored 3 points, bringing the score after 40 minutes to 6-4.

In the 3rd period, the Bandits were revved up and stole the scoring options, getting past the Rebels’ defense and adding 4 goals to their side of scoreboard, while the Rebels were unable to turn any shots on net into any goals. Final score for this exciting game was 10-4 for Bandits over Rebels.

Scoring for the Rebels were Max Pellerine with 2 goals, Brandon Scott who had a goal and an assist, and Cameron Jackson with a goal.

Bandits were led in scoring by Cody Carta-Bomersine who had 5 goals and 2 assists and by Dakota Morrisey who had 2 goals and 2 assists.

Bandits are now on a week long break and will next face Halifax Hurricanes in a Friday Night Lacrosse matchup back home at Shearwater Arena. Hope to see you all there!!!
