Hurricanes dominate the Rebels in a wild one

2019-06-07

The Hurricanes dominate from start to finish taking the match 21 -4 over the Rebels. A wild game that saw both benches finish the game short after a quick turn around for both these teams.

On Monday night, the St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels came into the home of the Halifax Hurricanes ready to battle on the floor. However, the Hurricanes were a whirlwind of scoring in this game and denied the Rebels any chance of taking the win out the door.

The Hurricanes scored 5 goals in the 1st, 9 goals in the 2nd and 7 goals in the 3rd; while the Rebels only saw 1 goal, then 3 more in the 1st and 2nd, but were unable to see the Hurricanes’ net in the last period.

Rebels scoring was equally spread over 4 players – Zach Whitford, Cam Jackman, Brandon Scott and Eli Beaton.

Hurricanes were led in scoring by Will Holmes, who had 6 goals and 1 assist, Jacob Abbott with 4 goals, and a hat trick by Glen Holmes, who also had 4 assists.

Hurricanes get to rest for a week then will host the Mi’kmaq Warriors on Mon, Jun 10 at 730pm at the Spryfield Lions Rink.

Rebels will be one of the ECJLL teams showcasing Jr A lacrosse, along with the Dartmouth Bandits, as part of the Valley Cup lacrosse tournament. This game starts at 4pm at Kings Mutual Century Centre in Berwick, NS. Looking forward to seeing all our valley lacrosse fans and all the tournament players there to cheer on these two teams!!
