Hurricanes down the Rebels for the second time this season

The Hurricanes are lead by Glen Holmes with 10 points as the Hurricanes drop the Rebels 16 - 8. The Hurricanes win keep them in position to opening the playoffs on home.

Mid week lacrosse action saw St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels host the Halifax Hurricanes at the BMO Centre in which both teams opened the game having a very even 1st period with a score after the first 20 mins of play of 5-4 for the Hurricanes over the Rebels.

During the 2nd period of play, Hurricanes revved up on their offense and scored 8 more goals, while the Rebels were only able to reply with 4 of their own, ending the period falling behind the Hurricanes with a 13-8 score.

With the last period in play, as much as the Rebels tried, they were unable to get thru the Hurricanes defence and add any goals to their score. While the Hurricanes kept up the whirlwind play and saw the Rebels’ net 3 more times. Hurricanes won this hump day game 16-8!

Hurricanes scoring leaders were Jonah Glazebrook who had 6 goal and 3 assists, Glen Holmes who had 5 goals and 5 assists and David Rossiter who had a hattie and 2 assists.

Rebels had a number of goal scorers through the game, with both Luke Wilson and Zach Whitford having 2 goals apiece.

These 2 teams face off again tomorrow night, Mon, Jun 3rd as the Hurricanes become the host team. Game goes at 7:30pm at the Spryfield rink.
