2019-05-31

In a re match of last year semis final, the Wolves even the season series with a big win at the Spryfield arena. These two will meet one more time this season and 2nd place could be on the line.

This past Monday night, the Sackville Wolves faced the Halifax Hurricanes and came out on top with a 14-7 win in the Sprydome. This was each team’s 2nd game in less than 4 days.

Right from the start of the 1st period, the Wolves ran the floor and dominated the game. Wolves offense showed they were a strong unit getting 6 goals in the 1st, 5 goals in the 2nd and another 3 in the 3rd. The Hurricanes offense tried hard to break thru their opponent’s defense but didn’t have much luck in any of the periods, scoring 2 goals in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd and another 2 goals in the last period.

Wolves scoring leader was once again Zac Carrigan who put 7 goals on the scoreboard and assisted on 5 others. Ben McKay and Matt Duggan also added to the scoreboard with 2 goals each.

Hurricanes were led in scoring by Jacob Abbott who had a hat trick.

Up next for the Wolves is a road trip to Fredericton where they face the NB Mavericks and will play the first ever ECJLL game in the NB capital city. Game will be held at the Grant Harvey Arena starting at 2pm. Looking forward to seeing the Freddy area lax players and fans coming out and cheering on these 2 awesome teams. This will be a great showcase of Jr A lax action for sure!!!!
