Rebels comeback falls short against the Warriors in another thriller

Friday night was another thriller between the Warriors and Rebels. After recording a tie in their first match up of the season, the second game had just as much end to end action. The Warriors took the match up holding off the Rebels comeback.

Friday night lacrosse action saw the St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels matched up against the Mi’kmaq Warriors on the floor at the Colchester Legion Stadium, where the Warriors came out strong in the 1st period. They opened up the scoring with just 1 minute 30 seconds on the clock and dominated the scoring over the first 20 minutes ending the 1stHurricanes for the remainder of the 20 minutes, ending the 1st period up 8-4.

The 2nd period saw the Rebels defense play a strong game as they held the Warriors to only 1 goal in this period, while their offense scored another 4 points, closing the point spread at the end of the period, but still behind, at 9-8.

Both teams played hard and fast in the last 20 minutes of this game, equally on their offense and defense as each team scored 4 points, with the Warriors winning their 2nd game in row, 13-12!

Rebels’ scoring leaders were Luke Wilson with a hat trick and 5 assists, and Ethan Locke, Nico Davies and Zach Sampson who all had 2 goals each.

Warriors were led in scoring by captain Connor Dennis who had 4 goals and 4 assists, Jordan Whitford with a hat trick and 3 assists and by Bryson Knockson, who had a natural hat trick, all within 1 minute 15 seconds of each other.
