Bandits beat the Wolves in a triller

2019-05-12

The game was delayed by 30 mins due to a power outage but it was worth a wait as the Bandits and Wolves battle in a classic battle. These two have renewed their rivalry over the vast few years and this game added to what will be an amazing series this year

After a delayed game start due to a power outage at the Shearwater Arena, the Sackville Wolves and the Dartmouth Bandits hit the floor with a vengeance and a new rivalry seems to have begun. Scoring in the 1st period started very quickly as the Bandits put the 1st goal on the board at just 1 minute into the game. The Wolves were evenly matched in this period, but the Bandits ended the first 20 mins up 4-3 over the Wolves. Wolves turned up the energy in the second and dominated the next 20 minutes, scoring 5 more goals while the Bandits only saw the back of the net twice. Wolves took over the lead from the Bandits by the end of the 2nd with a score of 8-6. Heading onto the 3rd period, Bandits came out with determination and hit the floor hard, coming back from a 2 point deficit, putting 6 points on the scoreboard and allowing the Wolves only 2 goals. Bandits take their 3rd win in a row, with a final score of 12-11 against the Wolves. Scoring leaders for the Sackville Wolves was captain Mitch Broussard who had 7 goals and 3 assists, and Zac Carrigan who had 2 goals and 4 assists. Dartmouth Bandits scoring leaders were assistant captain Brett Draper who had 3 goals and 2 assists, Tyson Carvery with 2 goals and 2 assists and Dakota Morrisey with 2 goals and 3 assists. Up next on the ECJLL weekend schedule is the NB Mavericks travelling to Truro to take on the Mi’kmaq Warriors in the Barn in a Mother’s Day game at 2pm on Sunday, May 12.
