Halifax Hurricanes host the Sackville Wolves in a Monday night game and win their second game in a row!

Both the Sackville Wolves and Halifax Hurricanes both were playing their second game in 4 days on Monday night, as the Wolves travelled to the Spryfield Lions rink to face off against the Hurricanes and this proved to be an exciting matchup.

Halifax Hurricanes were first on the scoreboard in the first 2.36 minutes of the game and quickly added 2 more goals in 2 more minutes, before the Wolves found the net. At the end of the 1st period, Hurricanes were in the lead 4-3.

The home team of the night, the Hurricanes, continued to dominate through the 2nd period of this game, scoring another 6 goals, twice as much as the Wolves, who put 3 goals on the scoreboard during this period, ending 40 minutes of play with a score of 10-6.

In the 3rd period, the visitors revved up their efforts and found the net more often than the hosts, as the Wolves scored 4 goals and only allowing the Hurricanes to get 2 goals in. Despite the strong effort, it was not enough for the Wolves to overcome the Hurricanes as the Hurricanes take the win in a final score of 12-10.

Some notable scorers for the Sackville Wolves were Ben McKay (4 goals, 2 assists), captain Mitch Broussard (2 goals, 5 assists) and rookie Alfie West who scored his first Jr A goal and assisted on 1.

Halifax Hurricane scoring leaders were David Rossiter (3 goals, 3 assists), Will Holmes (3 goals, 1 assist) and assistant captain, Glen Holmes (3 goals). Hurricanes’ rookie Jack Letterick also scored his first Jr A goal in this game.

The next ECJLL game is St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels home opener at the BMO Centre in Bedford at 8pm as they host the Mi’kmaq Warriors. Come on out to support and cheer on the Rebels as they play for the first time in their new home arena.
