NW relocating to St. Marg's for the 2019 ECJLL season

Big news for the East Coast Junior Lacrosse League. The Halifax NW Lions have relocated to St. Margaret's Bay will begin play in 2019!. Click Read more for a statement from the NW Lions
In the reloction the St. Margaret's Bay Rebels, all NorthWest players, will be trasnfered to the Rebels for the 2019 season. In 2018, the NW Lions, suspended operations for one season, and players where dispersal through out the league for 2018 season only. These players will be returned and being playing in 2019 for the St. Margaret's Bay Rebels.

Halifax, NS - We are excited to announce Halifax Northwest Junior Lacrosse will be merging with St. Margaret’s Bay Lacrosse Association & returning to league play in 2019 as the St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels.
As many are aware, the 2018 season marked the first time in ECJLL history that a Northwest Rebels or Marley Lions team did not participate in league play. Due to a variety of operational & administrative challenges, the decision was made to grant players a one-year release & temporarily step away from the league to evaluate the team’s options going forward.
Since that time, we’ve worked hard to build a dedicated new management team & develop a detailed plan for the future. In November, we presented that plan to the league & proposed several changes that we believe will allow the franchise to be sustainable & competitive within the league for years to come. At today’s ECJLL board meeting, that proposal was approved.
We are thrilled to join to the thriving, grassroots-oriented St. Margaret’s organization & are committed to helping instill a culture of giving back & growing the game. We look forward to integrating our proud alumni group with the St. Margaret’s Bay lacrosse community as we build relationships & generate excitement about giving Junior A lacrosse a home in the St. Margaret’s Bay area for the first time.
Thank you to the ECJLL for their support during this process, as well as the various teams who gave our players an opportunity to compete last year. We would also like to thank the countless players, parents, volunteers, & fans who have been a key part of the team’s success over the years. We appreciate your contributions & hope you’ll continue to support the team as we honour the past & build for the future.
