Hurricanes take game 1 over the Bandits

Hurricanes knock off the Bandits on the road 10-9 in Game 1 of the ECJLL final as they hold of the Bandits in the final minutes. Hurricanes will take a 1 -0 series lead home on Wednesday night in Game 2
Game 1 of the ECJLL Championship series was a repeat battle of last year's championship was the #2 Halifax Hurricanes faced off against the #1 Dartmouth Bandits. Both teams came ready to play some great lacrosse and they didn't disappoint.
Hurricanes opened the scoring in the first minute of the game, and they held the lead throughout the first period, scoring a total of 6 goals, while the Bandits put 5 goals on the scoreboard.
As the second period started, each team was fired up and both sides played extremely hard, as each defensive end held scoring down to 1 goal a piece. Though both teams tied in scores for this 20 mins of play, Hurricanes maintained the lead at 7-6.
Over the last 20 minutes of play, these two top teams were rammed up and determined to win this first game and set the tone of the series. Once again, both teams tied in scoring during this period with 3 goals each, ending the game in a 10-9 win for the Hurricanes.
Hurricanes take the win in Game 1 and the early lead in the best of 5 series, as Bandits face their first loss all season. Game 2 goes Fri night, July 20 at 7:30p at BMO Bedford Rink D. This championship series is one not to be missed as these two teams are both great Jr A teams and bring it all to the floor.
