Bandits down the Mavs to be one win away from the Finals

Even on short rest the Bandits take a commanding 2-0 lead on Saturday afternoon in the best of 5 series with another win at home 23-7

In Saturday afternoon lacrosse action, NB Mavericks and Dartmouth Bandits faced off of their 2nd game of their semi-final playoff series. With the Bandits leading the series 1-0, both teams were eager for the win.

Mavericks opened the scoring just 16 secs into the 1st period, and scored again in just 2.5 minutes later, but the Bandits did not allow them to score again in the period. Bandits took over the scoring in this period, burying the ball 6 times into the Mavericks' net by the end of the first 20 mins, leading the scoring 6-2.

The second period saw the Bandits dominate the floor and scoring, seeing the net 14 times while only allowing the Mavericks to score 3 goals. Heading into the 3rd, with a lead of 20-5, Bandits scoring streak was held to only 3 by the Mavericks, as the NB team added 2 more to their total. Bandits win with a final score of 23-7.

Scoring for the Mavericks was led by Jake Mosher-McGraw who had 3 goals, and Matt Downing who had 2 goals.

Bandits scoring leader Breton Penney had 5 goals and 8 assists in this game, while Jordan McKenna had 7 goals and 5 assists. Tyson Carvery also had a number of goals, with 4 and assisted on 3.

Bandits lead this series 2-0. These two teams face off again today at 3pm in Moncton, as the Mavericks take the game home.
