2018-07-14

Going into the 3rd period the Wolves had their backs against the wall down by 2 goals. The Wolves shut down the Hurricanes in the final period to take game 4 10-6.

Saturday night saw ECJLL playoff action in the form of Game 4 between the Halifax Hurricanes and Sackville Wolves. Hurricanes were looking to take the series with a win, as the Wolves were looking to stay alive and force Game 5.

Wolves opened the scoring first, but were unable to keep the lead in scoring for this period, as the Hurricanes ended the 20 mins of play up 3-2. 2nd period again saw both teams playing hard and mimicking their scores from the first period, closing this period with Hurricanes leading 6-4.

Facing elimination from the playoffs, Wolves came out in the 3rd period, hungry and on the hunt to win. Both the offence and defence turned it on, as Wolves shut out the Hurricanes scoring, and netted 6 goals of their own, winning the game 10-6 and keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Hurricanes were led in scoring by David Rossiter who had 2 goals and 1 assist, as other goal makers were Luke Smeltzer, Will Holmes, Phil Elford and Glenn Holmes.

Wolves' scoring leader Zac Carrigan had a natural hat trick to add to his 4 goal total, while Matt Wilson, Mitch Brossard and Mike Anthony each has 2 goals a piece.
