Hurricanes hold at home to take a 2-1 series lead

Hurricanes hold off the Wolves 9-6 in Game 3 of the semi-final series. Both teams have won on their home floor and with game 4 going Saturday night in Sackville, the Wolves will be looking to return the favour

In the 3rd game of the semifinals series between Halifax Hurricanes and Sackville Wolves, the Hurricanes take the win and edging their lead 2-1 over the Wolves in Friday night ECJLL action.

Lots of fans came out to the BMO Centre Bedford to see exciting Jr A play and they weren't disappointed. Both of these teams were hungry for the win and play was fast and furious.

At the end of first period, these two teams once again saw a tied game at 3 apiece. The Hurricanes came out in the second turning up the heat and scoring 4 goals while Wolves were only able to net 1 goal, ending the period behind Hurricanes at 4-7. The third period was a battle of action, speed and ball control as each team only netted 2 goals apiece. It was not enough for the Wolves to make up the difference and the Hurricanes walked away winning with a score of 9-6.

Lead scorers for the Wolves were Zac Carrigan and Mike Anthony who had 2 goals each.

Matt Oman and Glenn Holmes of the Hurricanes each had a hat trick during this game.

These two teams play again tonight at 7:30pm at Sackville Rink where Hurricanes will be looking to win this best of 3 out of 5 as the Wolves will be on the hunt to stay alive and tie to the series. It promises to be a game you don't want to miss.
