Bandits take Game #1 over the Mavericks

Bandits continue their winning streak as they open the playoffs at home in Shearwater against the Mavericks. After a tight 1st period the Bandits broke it open taking game 1, 22-8
In the 2nd Friday night ECJLL game action, NB Mavericks rode into Shearwater Rink to faceoff against the Dartmouth Bandits to open this semi final series between these two awesome teams.
The first period, these two teams were matched up and as Bandits started to take the lead (4-1), Mavericks replied and ended the first 20 mins of play behind with only a small point spread between them at 6-4.
Bandits played the next 20 mins with the goal of increasing that point spread and added 10 more goals in the period (averaging 1 goal every 2 mins) as Mavericks were only able to get 2 more goals in. The second ended in a score of 16-6.
The third period, Bandits kept up the strong play, seeing the Mavericks net 6 more times, while again the Mavericks scored just 2 goals. With a final score of 22-8, Bandits took the 1st game if this series.
Mavericks' lead scorer, Jake Mosher-McGraw had a hat trick, as did John Farrell. Captain Jon Magarey led his team in assists with 3 assists and netting a goal himself.
Bandits' lead scorer Breton Penney had 6 goals and 6 assists, while Jordan McKenna added 4 goals, assisting on 2 other. Both Tyson Carvery and Nile Cyr had hat tricks.
Bandits' brother duo of Dalton and Keaton Brown each had 2 goals. Big brother Dalton even assisted on younger bro Keaton's 2nd goal, which was the final goal of the game! Always awesome to see brothers playing this great game together and helping to grow the game.
