Wolves even up the Series over the Hurricanes

The Wolves even up the series after a 10-9 come from behind victory over the Hurricanes. Both games in this series have been 1 goal games, and nail bitters till the last second. Game #3 Friday night
On Wed night, with a hurricane moving up the coast, the Halifax Hurricanes blew into the Sackville Rink, looking to win Game 2 of this semi-final playoff series against the Sackville Wolves. But the Wolves were on the hunt to win this game after losing the first game in that exciting Sudden Death overtime play.
The first period saw an evenly balanced game, as the teams kept the scoring low, ending the period at 3-2 in favor of the Wolves.
Through the 2nd period, the Hurricanes gained momentum and were a whirlwind of scoring, netting 5 more goals while knocking down all but 1 of the Wolves' opportunities to score. After 40 mins of play, Hurricanes led 7-4.
As the 3rd period opened up, the energy in the rink was buzzing and the Wolves came out amped up with determination to win this game. That energy made for an exciting period, as the Wolves closed the scoring gap and tying it up in the last few minutes of the game. With the game looking like it was going in the same direction as the previous game, Wolves scored again, taking the lead and maintaining it by fending off any Hurricanes scoring.
Wolves win game 2 and tie up the series 1-1 against the Hurricanes.
Hurricanes' goal leader was Luke Smeltzer who had 4 goals and an assist, while Glenn Holmes helped make many of the scores happen with 5 assists.
Wolves' were led in scoring by Zac Carrigan who had 5 goals, and Mitch Brossard who added 2 goals and 2 assists.
Friday, July 13 is going to be lucky for 2 ECJLL teams as there are 2 games being played. Wolves head to BMO Centre in Bedford to face the Hurricanes at 8pm for their 3 game of that series. Across the harbour, Dartmouth Bandits and NB Mavericks open their semi-final series at 8pm at Shearwater Rink. Both these games promise to be full of excitement, fast pace and great lacrosse action. Come out to cheer these awesome ECJLL teams on!!
