Wolves take down the Warriors in the final regular season game

2018-07-04

Wolves finish the regular season with a win over the Warriors 14-7 as they head into the playoffs against the Hurricanes

Tues night was the last ECJLL regular season game, as Sackville Wolves hosted the Mi'kmaq Warriors at the Sackville Rink. The heat didn't keep the fans away or the players from playing a strong game.

The Sackville Wolves have grown to be a fast and strong team this season and they showed this as they opened up the scoring at just 46 secs into the 1st period. They continued to show their growth as they scored 7 goals for this period to the Warriors 2 goals, ending this period in a lead that unfortunately the Warriors wouldn't be able to overtake.

The 2nd period saw these two teams more even on the scoring, each netting 4 goals a piece, while the Wolves ramped it up again in the 3rd to score another 3 goals. This Sackville team brought the win home, ending the game at 14 - 7 over the Warriors.

Warriors' Lewis Jarvie led his team in scoring with 2 goals and 2 assists, as Zack Whitford added 2 goals as well. Ethan Malcom, new to the Warriors this season, went from goalie (in field lax) to goalscorer (here in the box), netting his first ECJLL goal at this game.

Wolves' captain Mitch Brossard led his team with 2 goals and an assist as Chris Duplisea added 2 goals and Ben MacKay made assists on 4 of the 14 goals.

ECJLL now heads into playoffs with the first game on Mon, July 9 at 8pm as the Halifax Hurricanes face off against the Sackville Wolves at the BMO Centre Bedford in their playoff series.
