2018-06-17In the 2nd of a home and home the Warriors return the favour on the Mavericks winning a 15-14 thriller in Truro to keep the Warriors playoff hopes alive.
In a father Day ECJLL special, NB Mavericks travelled to Truro to face off against the Mi'kmaq Warriors in the 2nd of two back-to-back weekend games between these two teams. Both teams are on the hunt to secure a position in the playoffs and this was a critical game for that goal.

In an epic third period, both teams fought hard to get their team the win, each team only allowing a few goals in. In the dying last minutes of the game, with the Warriors up 15-14, the Mavericks had the opportunity to tie up the game again with a penalty shot but Warriors goalie Nick MacLean stopped the Mavericks' shooter, keeping the Warriors in the lead and giving them their second win this season.
Mavericks were led in scoring today by Pete Stanger who has 5 goals and 3 assists, while Jon Magarvery has a hat trick and an assist.
Warriors' Bryson Knockwood led his team in scoring with 6 goals and 3 assists as rookie Randy Milliea scored 4 goals and 2 assists.
