Wolves down the Mavericks in a Thriller in Moncton

2018-06-10

In the battle of two teams tied in the standing, showed why these two are so close after a thriller that the Wolves came out on top 15-13

Sunday's ECJLL Sunday game had NB Mavericks back at the Kay Arena in Moncton to host the Sackville Wolves in what would be an exciting game.

The Mavericks were on point with the Wolves in a balanced game in all periods as there was very little spread in points at the end of each period. Wolves scored 5 goals in the 1st, 7 in the 2nd and only 3 in the 3rd, while the Mavericks went 3 in the 1st, revved it up to score 6 in the 2nd and 4 in the 3rd. Alas, though the Mavericks kept the Wolves from high scoring in the last period, it wasn't enough for the home team to take the win.

Sackville Wolves scoring was lead once again by Zac Carrigan, who put in 5 goals and assisted on 2, as Matt Wilson added 3 goals and had 5 assists.

Mavericks' Jake Mosher-McGraw has emerged as a scoring leader for his team this season as he added 6 goals and had 4 assists. Jaden Hewey also had 4 assists and added 2 goals to the scoreboard.

Up next in the ECJLL schedule is the Sackville Wolves playing again, this time hosting the Mi'kmaq Warriors on Tues, Jun 12 at 7:30pm at the Sackville rink. Hope to see all you ECJLL, Wolves' & Warriors' fans there!!
