Bandits dominate the 2nd period with 18 goals to down the Warriors 25 - 6 in Friday night ECJLL action
Fri night's ECJLL matchup saw Mi'kmaq Warriors travel into the city to play the Dartmouth Bandits at the Shearwater rink. Bandits maintain their winning streak, making it 8 games in a row.
The game was evenly paced in the 1st period, ending in a 4-3 score with Bandits leading. Then the Bandits brought on the speed and power in the 2nd, putting 18 goals on the board in 1 period. The Warriors were able to add 2 more goals in the 3rd and holding the Bandits to only 4 goals.
Bandits' Brenton Penney opening the scoring within the first 15 seconds of the game; Penney had 2 more goals and 6 assists in the game. Other leading scorers for the Bandits were Dakota Morrisey with 7 goals, 2 assists and Nile Cyr who had 5 goals and 2 assists.
Warriors' rookie Jordan Whitford added 3 more goals to his points total in this game, being assisted on one of his goals by brother Zach Whitford, who himself scored a goal for the Warriors in this matchup.
More Jr A games go this weekend with NB Mavericks having a road trip to Halifax, playing Halifax Hurricanes on both Sat and Sun. Sat's game goes at 6pm and Sun's faceoff is at 2pm. Both games will be played a BMO Bedford.
