Wolves take down the Warriors in a thriller
2018-05-05An exciting fast paced game in the ECJLL Season Opener last night in Truro with the Sackville Wolves taking the bus ride to Truro to take on the Warriors. These two teams had already played each other twice before the start of the regular season
Before the game both teams took part in a moment honoring the Humbolt Broncos and enter together in the Grand March.
ECJLL Indigenous Director spoke some powerful words about the creators game and how the teams and ECJLL hope to honor it this season. He also announced the recent exciting news that the North American Indigenous Games was awarded to Halifax Nova Scotia in 2020. These games will be over 5000 athletes from across Turtle Island to Nova Scotia to be the biggest Multi Sport Event in Halifax history.
In an electric environment both team came out of the gate firing in end to end action. These two teams have had many classic battle of the past and this game was nothing but a classic. The Wolves proved too strong for the Warriors taking the season opener 12 - 8. Wolves Captain Mitchel Boussard leading the way with 4 goals and 3 assists in the game.
