ECJLL Founders Cup

The Founders Cup is the pinnacle of Junior B lacrosse in Canada. The ECJLL has partnered with Lacrosse Nova Scotia to operate the Nova Scotia Founders Cup team for 2018.
The league is supportive of the league participating in the Founders Cup, as partaking in this event can have many positive results/impacts on the league and the lacrosse community. Since the partnership has begun, the league has developed a subcommittee, which has focused on bringing pride back to the Founders team while developing a long-term plan that will support the league and Nova Scotia in achieving their goals of developing lacrosse in Nova Scotia.
At the March 7th ECJLL board meeting, the committee presented the plan for having a Founders team in 2018. The committee has taken a phased approached to selecting the Founder team which is based on a club approach. Phase 1, which closes March 23rd, is asking for an Express of Interest from any team that would like to represent Nova Scotia/ECJLL at the Founders Cup. Teams’ Expression of Interest would include: why they are interested; how this initiative fits with their players’ and team’s objectives; and their current level of readiness to take on the initiative. In Phase 2, the league will work with interested teams to develop a budget and operation plan. The selected team can still “pick up” players from across the ECJLL, to fill out positions on their team.
