Getting To Know.. Brady Crossley, Bandits
2018-02-27The 2018 Spring Jam pre-season tournament is right around the corner, our Getting to Know article connects with a 2017 rookie that opened his career at last year’s Spring Jam and ever since has been a dominating force on the defensive end for the Dartmouth Bandits, Brady Crossley.
Brady Crossley has been a Dartmouth Bandits throughout his lacrosse career, finishing top 5 in scoring throughout his minor lacrosse career in the select program. An athletic player that has been on the radar of Bandits Jr A coaching staff for many years. Brady finished his rookie season with 3 points and 55 penalty minutes, showing that even as a rookie he has no problem throwing his weight around. In his sophomore year, Brady will be looked to even more as defense transition is a key to the Bandits’ success, which Brady’s hard hitting style forces more turnovers than most.
Brady is a multi-sport athlete, as he is a left defenseman for the Dartmouth Steele Subaru Major Midget team, who are currently up 3 games to 1 in the 1st round of the playoffs. In 2018, Brady was named to the 2nd team all-star of the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League, finishing the season with 23 points in 36 games. Crossley is a popular name in the Nova Scotia Hockey world as Brady’s brother Brett currently plays centre for the Halifax Mooseheads.
Brady, alongside Chris Mallette, is part of one of the toughest defenses in the ECJLL. With these two young men leading the back end the Bandits defense will have a solid core for years to come. Brady is a great role model for young defenders in the ECJLL as often it is not the glorified position on the team, but his toughness is felt around the league and a key to Bandits success in their championship runs.
