Getting To Know.... Remi Theriault, Mavericks

In our Getting to Know feature, the ECJLL crosses the border and connects with New Burnswicks Mavericks third year player Remi Theriault.
Remi Theriault will embark on his third season with the New Brunswick Mavericks in 2018. Remi will look to build on an excellent sophomore season where he found a home as a transition standout for the Mavericks. In 2017, Theriault, scored 12 goals and added 6 assists while adding a solid presence on the defensive side of the floor. “Remi was a huge asset over these past two seasons for us” said Mavericks GM Evan Richtsfeld. “His playmaking abilities on defense and his ability to always push the pace in transition really make Remi a special player”.
From Moncton, NB, Theirault was always a standout in the NB Lacrosse scene. He attended nationals with Team NB box lacrosse, played in the U-18 field lacrosse Maritime Cup in 2016, and last season captured a Excelsior Division Championship in the Codiac Varsity Field Lacrosse League with École L'Odyssée. Now, Theriault is currently enrolled in his freshman year at Université de Moncton.
Theriault will need to have another solid year for the Mavs if they wish to continue to build on last season’s success. With the loss of top defender Nic Thompson and top two offensive righty’s Jack Boyle and John Newman the Mavs will look to players like Remi to help fill those gaps.
