Effective to begin 2017 offseason activities, Scott Smith has stepped down as Commissioner of the East Coast Junior Lacrosse League. The move was made final at November’s Annual General Meeting, and a search for the league’s new Commissioner is under way.
Scott’s three year term comes to an end with his involvement in many initiatives to grow the league and establish sustainability going forward. He played a role in expanding the league from four teams to six with the re-establishment of a new Brunswick franchise and expansion of the Mi’kmaq Warriors.
Scott worked tirelessly to evaluate the ECJLL’s Regulations and Bylaws, completing an overhaul of both documents.
His vision for the league was steadfast, and along with team representatives and supporting executive member, Scott established a plan to overhaul the ECJLL’s draft format that will be applied in 2019.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Scott for his work with the ECJLL, and to wish him well in his future endeavours.
