ECJLL to Unveil Pink Balls for 2016

2016-04-01

The ECJLL will present new pink balls to be used in all game play for the 2016 season. These balls will be unveiled at the opening game between the Mi'kmaq Warriors and Dartmouth Bandits the first week of May.

FOR OFFICIAL RELEASE:

The East Coast Junior Lacrosse League will be trying something a little different heading into the 2016. They will be introducing pink balls as the official ball of the East Coast Junior Lacrosse league, to be used at all ECJLL scheduled games for the regular season and playoffs.

“This will separate us from the rest of Canada, and help us put a stamp on Junior lacrosse on the east coast,” said Colin Beiswanger, Marketing Director for the league.

“There has always been a back and forth conversation about using white or orange balls, and we feel as though a pink ball settles the conversation for good without picking one side or the other.”

All teams will be required to purchase and provide pink balls for their home games. Warrior has been commissioned to produce the balls, and will be stamped with a one-of-a-kind ECJLL emblem.

Scott Smith, commissioner of the ECJLL, feels as though the new balls will create an identity for the league. “We want to be known Canada-wide, we want to be the league with the pink balls. From Halifax to Coquitlam they will know us for our pink lacrosse balls.”

Look out for these new balls in 2016 on the floor at ECJLL games! Be sure to get your pink balls on our league store when we go live in May 2016!
